Skittles is back on TV this month with a new advert that comprises part of the brand’s multi-million pound investment for 2015.

The advert introduces a new character, Billy, with a body covered in Skittles – the result of having caught ‘Skittles Pox’. A curious friend pulls a Skittles off his face and proceeds to eat it… she immediately comes out in Skittles Pox too. The advert, which ends with the line ‘Contract the Rainbow, Taste the Rainbow’, aims to prove just how deliciously infectious Skittles are.

Tony Lorman, Wrigley European Confections business unit director, commented: “Skittles is one of the top selling confectionery brands and this latest ad shows just how infectious they are in a fun, light-hearted way.

“The brand is already worth over £38m and with this integrated campaign we will generate maximum exposure amongst consumers, providing retailers with an additional opportunity to drive sales.”

The advert follows the introduction of a new bottle format for Skittles and teaming up with Xbox to offer consumers the chance to win an Xbox One with every promotional bag sold.
