Walkers has announced Pulled Pork in a Sticky BBQ Sauce as the winning flavour of the ‘Do Us A Flavour’ campaign.
Paul Rothwell, from Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, bagged the £1m prize after Pulled Pork in a Sticky BBQ Sauce won receiving 26% of the votes cast.
Former England footballer and star of Walkers’ adverts Gary Lineker commented: “Congratulations are in order to Paul who has won the grand £1m prize. It’s been great seeing the public get behind their favourite flavour. The competition has seen a huge variety of flavours submitted by the public, including some interesting suggestions such as Dinosaur and Grasshoppers. Paul faced tough competition from a great selection of shortlisted flavours so huge congratulations to the runners up too.”
The ‘Do us a Flavour’ campaign kicked off in January and over 1.2 million entries were submitted. Chef Marco Pierre White and talent show judge David Walliams worked with the Walkers judging panel to scrutinise the flavours submitted and agree on the final six which were put on sale and up for public vote in July of this year.
The five runners up will each win £10,000 for taking part in the competition. All flavours are available for a limited time only and will not remain on shelf following the competition.
