New Twix Fino is a lighter version of the best-selling countline bar. Based on the original Twix recipe, it combines chocolate and caramel but instead of biscuit, it has a light-textured wafer. Launching this month, it will initially be available through small independent retailers and other impulse outlets.
Manufacturer Mars Chocolate says the launch of Twix Fino is the biggest news since the brand’s introduction more than 40 years ago.
Bep Sandhu, Mars trade relations manager, says: "The release of Twix Fino follows three years of consecutive growth for the Twix brand. The classic Twix bar is the fourth best-selling chocolate bar in the impulse market (IRI total impulse sales week ending May 22, 2010) and we believe Twix Fino will further drive the brand’s popularity."
The 34g bars will retail at 52p. The launch will be supported by a national outdoor ad campaign as well as sampling and PR activity.
A range of point-of-sale material is available including counter display units and dumpbins.
