Valeting may be a booming sector in the forecourt industry, but offering such services can involve more than just plonking new equipment down on an empty patch of hardstanding.
Eurotank recently installed a silt trap connected to local drainage at a forecourt’s jet wash bay, replacing the old concrete in the process.
“The bay had a very tired and worn surface”, explains Ashley Bithell, Eurotank’s contracts manager. But while the facility’s looks were by no means becoming, its function was sorely lacking, too.
Water from the jet wash was “not draining away correctly” and was “spilling onto the forecourt”, Bithell explains, with customers cleaning their cars faced with having to dodge puddles that collected in the bay, or ending up with soggy feet.
The solution? “New brush-finished concrete pads” for the jet-wash bays, with water taken to its rightful destination thanks to a dedicated drain.
“Water now escapes via a silt trap”, Bithell says, while the brushed concrete looks neat thanks both to its professional finish, and due to the fact it is no longer home to dirty water run-off.
