Officers from Cleveland Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted armed robbery at a forecourt in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees, between 9.25pm and 9.35pm on Saturday January 29.

A masked man, believed to have been carrying a knife, walked into the Jet Service Station store on Norton Road and demanded cash.

The suspect is described as between 35 and 40, of slim build and wearing a black beanie-style hat and black face mask.

He had dark, heavy eyebrows and dark hair. He was wearing sportswear – a zip up top with a design which is white on the top half and blue horizontal stripes on the bottom and grey joggers.

The man left the store in the direction of Norton Avenue.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Officers are appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who saw a man matching this description to contact police on 101, reference 15859.”
