Detectives from Police Scotland are appealing for information after two men attempted to steal from an ATM at a petrol station in the Prestwick Road area of Ayr.

The incident happened around 11.45pm on Sunday, 30 January, when two men tried to remove money from the standalone ATM machine on the forecourt of the Shell service station but were unsuccessful.

Both men were wearing dark clothing and left the premises in a white Ford Transit pick up.

Detective inspector Andrea Templeton said: “We believe this was a targeted break-in and those involved left empty-handed. We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time.

“If you saw anything suspicious, before or after this incident, then please get in touch, particularly if you have dash-cam footage that may help with our investigation.”
