EG On The Move has today launched two more sites – one near Chester and the other in East Kilbride, Scoltand – in partnership with the Co-op.
The duo now have 10 of EGOTM’s 160 operational forecourts in a franchise agreement together, following a successful trial last year.
The re-developed Moston Services, which was knocked down and rebuilt, was bought in the bundle of 98 forecourts from Applegreen last February, and is smaller than EGOTM’s new to industry locations.
But EGOTM commercial director Ilyas Munshi says it will be a busy site because of its location, opposite Chester Zoo, on Liverpool Road, Moston.
The 24-hour forecourt has four electric vehicle charging bays, six fuel pumps, plus air and vacuum facilities. And there is a Subway, Costa coffee, and a free to use ATM.
Launching on the same day with Co-op is Buchandyke Petrol Filling Station on Maxwelton Road in East Kilbride. The site has recently been acquired by EGOTM, and is scheduled for a refit. It is open between 6am-10pm, and also has six fuel pumps, with air and water, and Lavazza coffee.
Michael Hargreaves, Co-op head of forecourt franchise, says: “We are thrilled to collaborate on the launch of two sites in a week. Both sites are focussed on meeting the fuel and food needs of motorists and those who live in the surrounding area.
“Co-op stores have a focus on being a hub locally, delivering the quality, choice, value and added services which can be enjoyed by everyone, along with contributing to local life. We are focused on scaling our franchise business by sharing our convenience expertise with quality partners, and look forward to identifying more locations for joint growth with EG On The Move where we can create further compelling forecourt and convenience food sites together.”
Zuber Issa, chief executive of EG On The Move, adds: “We are focused on growing our network and delivering enhanced customer experiences that reflect the fuel and retail needs of those who travel or live nearby. We are delighted to collaborate with Co-op on our latest sites.
“We are focused on creating destinations sites, with strong foodservice and quality convenience retailing. We are committed to quality and innovation and we look forward to continuing to grow our successful relationship with Co-op to enhance the convenience store offer aligned to our forecourts and create a fuel and food destination.”
