Delice to Go at EG On The Move’s Hayling Island site

Top 50 Indie EG On The Move is the first forecourt operator to offer Delice de France’s new Delice To Go food-to-go concept. And it’s working so well that Delice is actively looking for more sites to launch it in and is open to conversations with more forecourt operators.

Delice to Go is described as a “fully branded, modular concept that features a range of hot, chilled and ambient grab-and-go products. There are eight chilled sandwiches, three salads and a range of seven heat-to-eat products, including paninis, toasties and wraps.

The sandwiches are the typical varieties, think Chicken Salad and Tuna & Cucumber while the heat-to-eat range includes Ham & Cheese, Tuna Melt and Chicken Balti paninis, an All Day Breakfast wrap, and three croques (Five Cheese; Chicken & Chorizo; and Ham & Cheese).

At the launch, Thierry Cacaly, CEO, Delice de France, said: “Backed by decades of market insight, Delice to Go is the product of our leading food crafting expertise and unrivalled knowledge of managing food operations around the clock.

“With products designed to tap into leisure occasions and appeal to busy shoppers on the go, outlets can have the confidence that our new proposition offers something for every one of their customers.”

With regards to the EG On The Move installations, Stephen Hatton, concept manager at Delice de France, says: “We recently launched our Delice to Go concept in several EG On The Move sites across the country(Braintree, Hayling Island and Oswestry), which all start up at 5am, ready to start trading at 6am. Delice to Go is our complete food-to-go solution, which enables our partners to rotate their offer seamlessly throughout the day, offering best-selling products for breakfast, lunch and late-afternoon treats.”

“Breakfast is a huge growth area for convenience and forecourt retailers who can get ahead of the morning rush,” says Hatton. “When you start for the day depends on your area, but we’d suggest that selling from 6am would be the right time for most locations to capitalise on valuable early-morning traffic. Any later and you might miss the lucrative opportunities that breakfast presents.”
