EG On The Move has submitted planning permission to Pendle Council to add a Popeyes drive-thru restaurant to its Greenfield Road, Colne site.
The application says the site is already partially developed and includes a coffee drive-thru, petrol filling station, car wash and EV charging hub. “The addition of a hot food drive-thru will further enhance and have a positive impact on the local area,” it states.
EG On The Move wants full planning permission for a single-storey hot food drive thru unit with associated landscaping and parking for 23 cars, including two disabled spaces. The new Popeyes will create 20 jobs.
Access to the site is via Whitewalls Drive. The existing access road currently serves the coffee drive-thru, petrol filling station, EV charging hub and car wash. It is proposed that the existing access road be extended to the east of the site, providing vehicular access to the new hot food drive-thru.
A consultation is currently underway regarding the plans, which closes on October 28.
To date, there is only one negative comment from a member of the public who has complained about all the extra traffic using Greenfield Road since EG On The Move’s site originally opened.
