MFG has bought Fraser’s Marlborough site and is currently rebranding it

Award-winning retailer Fraser’s Retail has sold its Marlborough Business Park site, which opened in 2012, to MFG.

The deal went through last week and the site has already closed, ready for MFG to make its changes.

Fraser’s director Jonathan Fraser said it was the right decision for the firm as it will allow them to focus on their four other sites as well as acquisitions.

Fraser told Forecourt Trader: “We’d done as much as we could at Marlborough; MFG has access to brands we don’t so will be able to take it further.“As a family, we are sad to see it go. It’s not often that we sell a site but it’s the right decision for the site and for the business. Marlborough is a good forecourt but didn’t really fit in with our model. It was performing well but not as well as our other sites.”

MFG is currently ‘freshening up the Marlborough forecourt and rebranding the shop as a Morrisons. The existing Subway will stay and a Pret a Manger will be added. MFG has kept on all the Fraser’s Marlborough staff.

Meanwhile, Fraser said the last couple of months has been a very good time for the business thanks for the World Cup and the sunshine.

“It’s been an absolute blessing after a difficult few months and the sites continue to do well.”He said next for the group was a forecourt-focused development at the Yarnton site, which would start later in the year.
