Officers from Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses after a petrol station and shop in the Cotswolds were targeted in ram raids during the same night last month.

They reported that just before 2.20am on December 28 a shop front in Moreton-in-Marsh High Street was driven into by a vehicle, causing considerable damage to the building.

A gang of people wearing balaclavas then got out of the car, went into the shop, and stole a number of items.

They then abandoned the vehicle and fled in a white Volkswagen vehicle believed to have been driven on false plates.

At around 2.30am that morning, the same gang then targeted a petrol station in nearby Bourton-on-the-Hill. During this incident, it was reported that a number of items were stolen, including cigarettes and alcohol.

The Volkswagen was then seen heading in the direction of Fish Hill. Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incidents or who has any information and has not yet spoken to police.
