Top 50 Indie Karan Retail has acquired two sites taking it up to 58, and increasing its number of Jet canopies to seven.
Today, the Coventry-based operator completed on Jet Chidswell Service Station near Dewsbury in West Yorkshire, and Jet Menstrie Service Station in Stirling, Scotland.
This follows its Crowborough Service Station in East Sussex being rebranded to Jet in May. The former Total Energies site had been supplied by Jet during the disruption caused by the collapse of the Lindsey oil refinery last year.
While Karan Retail continues to be supplied at other sites by multiple fuel brands – including Murco, Shell, BP, Esso, Gleaner, Texaco and Valero – the Phillips 66 subsidiary describes the switch at Crowborough as marking “the next stage” in its relationship with the operator.

Chris Murphy, retail account manager, UK marketing, Phillips 66 Limited, says: “Supporting dealers when circumstances change, through a tailored approach, is central to how we work at Jet. With Karan Retail, that meant helping to provide continuity during a difficult period and then supporting the next stage of growth as Crowborough rebranded and joined the Jet network. We’re delighted to be working with Karan as Chidswell and Menstrie come into the portfolio as well, and we look forward to building our relationship.”
Karan Retail adds: “Jet provided support that was clear, consistent and straightforward during a period of uncertainty and instability. JET helped us keep the business moving and gave us confidence in the next step. Bringing Crowborough across to Jet, with Chidswell and Menstrie following, feels like a positive move for the business and one we’re pleased to be making.”
