Patrick Sewell is running a half marathon to raise money for his local hospice

Sewell on the go MD, Patrick Sewell, is running a half marathon in London to raise over £3,000 for Dove House Hospice in Hull.

The half marathon on Sunday April 12 will be the latest event in a long fundraising partnership Sewell on the go has had with Dove House, a local hospice that supports those at the end of their lives and their families. The hospice is a charity and relies heavily on funds raised to continue working and supporting those in its care. Over the years Sewell on the go staff have taken part in two walking marathons, numerous ‘It’s a knock-out’ competitions and even been locked in ‘jail’ for a day.

Patrick Sewell, a keen fundraiser, enjoys a run but has never taken on such a distance before, so it’ll be a real challenge for him. He says: “Dove House Hospice have always worked so hard to make what is their patients’ most difficult time easier, supporting thousands of people across the Hull and East Yorkshire area – these people are our friends, family, colleagues and customers. We’ll always do what we can to raise funds for Dove House, with this event being the latest, and the one I’m most nervous about. While I am a keen runner, I’ve never run a half marathon before and I know it won’t be easy, but I know it will be a lot easier than the work the Dove House team do to support those in their care, which is why I’m determined to complete it and raise as much as I can for them in the process.”

The route will take Sewell and many others fundraising for Dove House around the streets of London, passing famous spots such as the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and Nelson’s Column.
