Lincolnshire Police has issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after an ATM was damaged during an attempt to steal it from the Shell Garage in Newark Road, South Hykeham.

Pictures published in the local press show a substantial dent in the ATM.

Officers attended the garage after they received a report of a disturbance at around 1.54am on Sunday 20th June.

The offenders had fled the scene before their arrival. It is believed there were three suspects who were in a dark coloured vehicle, possibly a 4x4, which had silver trim.

It is reported that CCTV footage shows two people on the forecourt looking around and possibly a third person inside a parked vehicle.

It appears that they are suddenly disturbed by something and the pair get into the car, which drives off.

No-one was at the business at the time of the incident.

Anyone who was in the area at around the time of the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may be able to assist with the investigation, is asked to call on 101, quoting incident 33 of June 20.
