Tesco has this week begun the roll-out of Vontier fuelling and payment technology at almost 700 manned forecourts across the UK and Ireland.
The supermarket chain has already installed the equipment – which includes outdoor payment terminals from its Invenco business and its subsidiary GVR’s DOMS PSS pump system – at 23 unmanned sites. It expects the implementation to be complete across its 720-strong network by mid-2027.
The technology connects the pumps to Tesco’s point of sale software, providing the retailer with “real-time data on all aspects of the forecourt”, says Vontier.
The US company says its products will allow Tesco to “gain deeper operational insights and a smoother customer experience” by combining “the best-in-fuelling from GVR and best-in-payment from Invenco to create a state-of-the-art solution”.
In February 2024, Tesco said it was installing the latest pay at pump terminals from long time technology supplier Petroassist at 600 of its forecourts.
