French chargepoint firm Allego has completed the installation of four new EV chargers in Aberdeenshire.
Two units, each with a pair of leads, now grace the town of Kintore, 12 miles northwest of Aberdeen, while an identical brace of chargers has been installed in Banchory, 20 miles southwest of the port city. Each device can deliver electricity at speeds of up to 300kW, and all four are located close to a Co-op convenience store.
Allego, whose parent company Meridiam is an investment and asset management firm headquartered in Paris, says the new sites are among a “limited number” of ultra-rapid bays in Aberdeenshire, adding that their location along the A96 and A93 main roads will serve both local drivers, and those passing through the region.
The firm’s managing director, Paz Sharma, comments: “By investing in communities with limited or no access and placing chargers on transport routes, we provide reliable high-speed charging where it’s needed most.
“This supports both local drivers and commuters and helps meet the growing demand from a rapidly expanding EV market.”
Sharma adds that his firm is actively scoping out more locations in the area for further points.
