Shell’s V-Power range of super fuels has long been associated with motorsports, but with BP now sponsoring the Audi Revolut F1 team, the British oil major is highlighting the credentials of its racing fuel to persuade drivers to opt for Ultimate Unleaded and Diesel.
The partnership with Audi was announced in 2024, but with 2026 marking the German racing team’s debut in the sport, BP is promoting its Ultimate range of unleaded and diesel, noting that they were developed by the same team of experts who devised the Ultimate Racing fuel used by Audi’s F1 cars.
BP says drivers can get 375 extra miles a year from the same amount of fuel by opting for Ultimate, while it has supplied 240,000 litres of racing fuel to Audi’s F1 team since testing began in mid-2023
The firm is offering drivers who fill up with Ultimate at UK forecourts the chance to win a trip to the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Customers are automatically entered into a prize draw each time they scan their BPme rewards card when purchasing Ultimate fuel.
Three pairs of tickets are up for grabs, which each bringing return flights from a UK airport to Las Vegas, together with entry to the race and three nights’ accommodation in a Vegas hotel. The promotion began on June 9 and runs until August 31. It is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
Joe Hockenhull, whose firm, HGS, runs four forecourts trading under BP liveries, says the promotion is “definitely getting attention” from customers.
