A run-down filling station near Welshpool, Powys, is set to be brought back into service after a planning application was made to the local authority.
Proposals for the forecourt, in the small town of Llanfair Caereinion, are relatively modest, with the site’s building remaining as is save for the installation of sliding glass doors and the fitting out of a new convenience store inside the structure.
Llanfair Caereinion has a population of around 1,000, with a further 1,000 residents living in the surrounding area, while the B-road on which the site sits is roughly a third of a mile from the A458 main road linking Mallwyd and Welshpool.
