The challenge cumilates in one winner racing in a MINI touring car

Duckhams Oils has helped raise over £20,000 sponsoring Sim To Reality Challenge, a charity-focussed motorsports initiative that sees computer-game racers offered the chance to drive on track in the real world.

The 127-year-old oil brand, which was relaunched in the UK last year following an investment from EG On The Move’s Zuber Issa, joined Japanese battery firm Yuasa and other sponsors to support the challenge.

Sim To Reality begins with computer-game races, with top competitors selected for a live karting contest at Daytona Motorsport in Milton Keynes, and the grand prize seeing 2026 winner Will Foulkes take part in a race-drive day in a MINI Trophy BTCC car at a support event with the British Touring Car Championship.

This year’s event raised over £20,000, with all £20 entry fees, alongside donations from Duckhams, Yuasa and other sponsors, going to the David Riddell Memorial, a suicide-prevention charity set up following the death of its namesake.

David McLean, chief marketing officer with Duckhams Oils comments: “It was an honour to support the Sim To Reality activity and shine a light on The David Riddell Memorial. We’re proud to support a charity making a real difference. It was fantastic to see the whole team getting behind such an important cause.”
