The UK’s 400-plus Gulf-branded forecourts are being provided with automated compliance for the government’s Fuel Finder price-reporting system following a deal done between Certas Energy, which owns the brand, and pricing firm MyAutomate.
Gulf says the move underlines its “commitment to supporting independent retailers through regulatory change”.
MyAutomate, which also runs the consumer-facing PetrolPrices website, is rolling its FuelSense software out to Gulf dealers, allowing them to automatically comply with Fuel Finder rules that require them to share petrol and diesel prices within 30 minutes of any changes being made.
The system also offers real-time wholesale fuel-market information, insights into driver behaviour, and competitor prices.
Jenny Lockwood, Certas UK’s head or retail dealer, says the firm is “committed to providing our nationwide network of Gulf dealers with the tools and resources to provide the very best customer experience, adding:
“FuelSense will offer ‘in the moment’ data, enabling our dealers to track and respond quickly to market changes – ensuring pricing is always in-line with the government’s recent fuel-pricing legislation.”
Clare Lafferty, a director with MyAutomate, remarks: “By bringing together all our trusted data sources across wholesale and retail pricing plus consumer behaviour, FuelSense enables retailers to make informed, data-driven decisions.”
