A hand car wash in Swainsthorpe, Norfolk, is set to return to trading as a filling station after a planning application was submitted to the local authority seeking permission to demolish the existing structure in advance of rebuilding it as a PFS.
The Old Filling Station sits on the A140 five miles south of Norfolk and, as well as offering valeting, is home to a used-car dealership and vehicle workshop.
Developer Brooke Industrial Management is seeking permission to demolish the building that was previously the forecourt shop, which is described as having an “outdated layout” and being of “low quality” construction with “a very untidy appearance”.
While full details are lacking as the firm has so far only applied for permission to begin demolition works, Brooke intends to build a new filling station on the site complete with two EV charging bays.
The firm will keep the car sales business operating and retain the vehicle workshop.
