Firm has grown apace since its 2010 founding

Retail IT firm Henderson Technology is celebrating 15 years of its Edge point of sale software and is partnering with a mental-health charity to mark the occasion.

The firm’s EdgePoS launched in 2010, with its first full site integration going live two years later. The company expanded into international markets in 2014, while its software and hardware offerings have also grown over the last decade and a half, with Henderson now offering electronic shelf labels and self checkouts. The company has also begun trialling artificial intelligence-based loss-prevention technology.

Henderson has partnered with Action Mental Health (AMH) as it looks forward to the future, organising a fundraising collection at the Spar Mallusk store in Newtonabbey, Northern Ireland, while also investing in AMH staff training.

Henderson’s retailer operations director, Darren Nickels, says the firm’s success is down to its EdgePoS being “built by retailers, for retailers”, and the company considers that the next 15 years “present even greater opportunities”.

Nickels adds: “The future is already taking shape, from AI to advanced fuel management and loss prevention, and our role is to make sure every retailer has access to the right tools to grow.”
