Fuel and shop sales are already exceeding expecations

A redevelopment project which saw a Jet filling station in Grimsby, Lincolnshire comprehensively rejuvenated has been completed, with fuel and shop sales already significantly up.

Jet Victoria Street closed for three months during improvement works, which saw the sited kitted out with a new canopy and fresh pumps, together with a new Shop ‘N’ Go forecourt shop, complete with Costa Express and Rollover concessions. Since reopening, fuel and retail sales have ”outperformed projections”, its owners say.

Saji Muthiah, director of the site’s owner, Atlas Retailers, comments: ”We chose Jet as they provide a competitive offer, a reliable fuel supply – with access to the Humber Refinery – and they deliver a level of service that makes us feel valued.”

Atlas has also invested £1m in a second forecourt, Stoneferry Service Station in Hull, which has also signed with Jet, which has 328 forecourts in the UK.

Martin Smith, retail account manager for Phillips 66, which owns Jet, comments: “The transformation from a small-scale site to a thriving, high-volume forecourt has been wonderful to see. With Stoneferry now underway, we’re looking forward to creating another landmark development to serve the communities across the region.”
