Jonathan James has finished the first phase of a £1.85m project to upgrade several of his sites in Cambridgeshire. Jonathan, operations director at retailer
James Graven & Sons, said work had just finished on the refit at his site in Ely which is being used to launch a new-look Budgens c-store. The former Forecourt Trader of the Year added that work was due to start shortly on a new build Spar at his nearby site in Littleport.
The company is also planning to refit its Slade End site in Chatteris – another Spar shop – in addition to its stand-alone shop in Soham.
Meanwhile, Jonathan has been asked to join the International Committee of NACS, taking up the post for the first time this June in Sydney. He joins other prestigious members of the committee such as Tian Jinghui, vice president of PetroChina Marketing Company, and Rahul Prakash, group head – trade marketing & distribution at British American Tobacco.
Jonathan said: "It’s a huge honour to be asked to be on the International Committee. There are a great mix of people on the committee and I’m really looking forward to it.
"The work on our sites is also going extremely well. We’ve just finished the Ely refit and we’ve made plenty of changes, such as putting doors back on the chillers in the shop. The site looks really stunning."
