Forecourt will gain valeting and charging facilities

South Norfolk District Council has granted MFG permission to upgrade a Morrisons forecourt in Diss, south Norfolk, adding valeting and charging facilities, amongst other improvements.

The firm is now poised to install five jet-wash bays at the forecourt, with three of these being covered and two being open.

The site’s shop will be more than doubled in size, being extended from its 980sq ft internal area, to 2,240sq ft.

MFG will also construct eight EV charging bays, complete with canopy, on unused land adjacent to the forecourt.

Local residents, particularly those form a nearby retirement complex, had objected to the plans for a variety of reasons, including concerns relating to noise, light and traffic, but the council granted the firm permission to go ahead, although it ruled the jet wash can only be used until 5:30pm each day.
