EV charging may no longer be on the cards for the site, but the shop extension is still planned

MFG has applied for planning permission to extend a Morrisons forecourt in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, adding a food-to-go facility and raising the canopy roof.

The extension would add around 750sq ft to the existing 900sq ft shop, allowing for the installation of a food to go area that would be served by a bakery/café providing hot food.

This submission follows an approved application MFG made for the site earlier in the year, which proposed removing the forecourt’s car wash and installing EV charging and a jet wash in its place.

The new plans are “similar” to the ones previously approved, though the firm says “this submission does not include the removal of the car wash, creation of an electric charging zone, jet wash facilities, substation and LV panel” – indicating MFG has rethought its decision to roll out EV charging at the site.
