NDubz rapper Dappy has been found guilty of affray after a brawl at a petrol station, in which others involved suffered broken teeth, and a broken nose. Following the week-long trial at Guildford Crown Court, Dappy was also found guilty of a charge of assault by beating, which involved him spitting at a man.

The court heard how Dappy had been out on February 27 last year celebrating the release of his single Rockstar featuring Queen guitarist Brian May. He and his friends stopped at a Shell garage in Woodbridge Road at about 3.30am, when Dappy approached two women who had been sitting on the kerb outside the station shop where he tried to persuade them to get into the car with him.

The court was told that when they refused these advances and began to ridicule him, Dappy allegedly became angry and insulted them. He was then accused of spitting at them, but missing - the two counts of common assault faced by the singer.

A man who stepped in to protect them was spat at by Dappy, which prompted the charge of assault by beating.

Dappy had denied attempting to pick up the two women and told the court that he only spoke to them to promote his single.

Judge Neil Stewart adjourned the case for reports to be prepared on Dappy and another defendant Kieron Vassell.

The pair were released on unconditional bail until sentencing is carried out on February 15.
