Raw’s deal with Landsec is a signficant development in the chargepoint-operator world

A retail park in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, is now home to a 16-bay ultra-rapid EV charging hub, with the new facility part of a £25m project between Raw Charging and commercial property firm Landsec.

The deal, announced last week, will see Raw roll out over 1,000 charging bays at locations owned by Landsec, including Bluewater and Gunwharf Quays shopping centres.

The Chesterfield hub is the first fruit of that deal and is located at the Landsec-owned Ravenside retail park, serving shoppers visiting the centre’s Asda, Next, PC World and other stores. Customers using the bays can expect electricity to be delivered at up to 150kW.

A further 27 Landsec properties will receive Raw chargers once the project has been completed.

Neil Broadbank, chief commercial officer for Raw Charging comments:

“We are thrilled to launch our first EV charging hub with Landsec at Ravenside Retail Park. Our roll-out of EV chargers with Landsec is nationally significant, adding 1,000 new bays across the country before 2027.

“We are bringing reliable, rapid, and accessible charging to shoppers and look forward to welcoming drivers to Ravenside and to many more Landsec sites in the months ahead.”
