Somerset could be in line for a new main-road services, after a planning application was submitted to local authorities seeking permission to construct a new filling station, EV charging hub and a pair of drive-thru outlets.
Developers Warleigh Capital, Spectrum Southern and White Row Country Foods are looking to build the new facility beside the A36, three miles to the north-east of Frome.
If approved by Somerset Council, the undeveloped greenfield site will play host to a four pump-island forecourt facing a 5,275sq ft shop fronted with a dozen parking spaces. Eight EV charging bays will also be installed at the site alongside a dog park.
A drive-thru coffee shop with parking for 50 cars is included in the plans for the six-acre plot, as is another spot for a drive-thru restaurant. If approved, the services will create 45 new jobs.
