Top 50 Indie NTS Retail is having a busy few days: a short while after reopening an updated site in Essex, the firm has purchased a filling station in Herefordshire, while it was also recently granted planning permission to resurrect a Somerset forecourt.
The Herefordshire filling station sits in the village of Whitney on Wye around 15 miles west of Leominster. Sporting an Esso livery and Spar shop, the site features four pumps spread over two islands, and adjoins the A438.
NTS owner Thayaparan Nalliah described the Whitney on Wye acquisition as a “milestone” that “further strengthens our network”, and said the firm looks forward “to supporting the local community and continuing our growth within the forecourt retail sector”.

The Somerset project, meanwhile, is centred around the village of Street and concerns a used-car dealership being returned to its original filling-station status, with NTS planning to add EV charging and two jet wash bays when it recommissions the site.
Somerset Council green lit the project at the end of March, and NTS has three years to begin work, as is conventional for such permissions.
