The site sits to the north of the city centre

A planning application has been submitted to Peterborough City Council seeking permission to demolish and reconstruct a BP filling station.

The developers say the forecourt is “somewhat disjointed” and “does not make full use of the available site area”, describing it as “cramped” and lacking formal customer parking arrangements and EV charging.

As a result, Directfirm Ltd, the firm behind the proposed project, intends to knock down and rebuild the facility, installing two new 80,000-litre fuel tanks, four fresh pump islands, two EV charging bays and a glass-fronted, 2,300sq ft shop faced with customer parking.
