The site currently trades as a hand car wash

A planning application has been submitted to Peterborough City Council to construct an EV charging station on land currently occupied by a hand car wash.

The 10-bay station would sit to the north of the city, displacing Bubbles Car Wash, which trades from a plot that was previously a car park adjacent to the Parkway Sports and Social Club.

Planning documents reveal there would be eight standard bays and two accessible bays for drivers with disabilities. Electricity will be delivered via Alpitronic Hyperchargers, while the project comes from Moreco Investments, a firm incorporated in January 2025 and listed by companies house as being focussed on the buying and selling of own real estate.

The new station is described as “a well-designed, modest-scale development that reuses a brownfield site to deliver strategic low-carbon infrastructure” in the planning submission.
