Top 50 Indie SGN Retail has purchased a group of five forecourts from Rusdene Services, as the latter departs the fuel retailing sector after four decades in the business.
The forecourts are all located the south, with four Hampshire sites – in Lee-on-Solent, Botley, West Meon and Waterlooville – changing hands, together with a fifth on the outskirts of Warminster, Wilts.
All five forecourts wear BP liveries and play host to a mix of Londis and Budgens shops. The Botley site had been owned by Rusdene since 1988, with the Lee-on-Solent forecourt having been acquired by the firm in 1994.
Rusdene has developed the forecourts significantly over the course of its ownership. Four host dedicated vape shop areas, two offer Instavolt EV charging, with valeting facilities featuring at two sites.
The sale to SGN marks the end of an era for a business that has traded since 1986, with the deal taking place in November.
Essex based SGN Retail has over 100 forecourts in its portfolio, making it the fourth largest independent operator in the country.
