A planning application has been submitted to Somerset Council for the installation of three jet wash bays at a Taunton forecourt.
The Texaco filling station, on Wellington New Road in the county town, already has a car wash, but Plaistow Broadway, the Top 50 Indie firm that has six forecourts in its portfolio, is seeking to increase its valeting operations with the new bays, and also intends to install new air/water and vacuum units as part of the development.
As is typical with such applications, a slew of documents has been submitted to the council as the firm seeks to secure permission for the project; these include an ecology report, biodiversity net-gain statements and calculations, a host of design drawings and a completed climate-emergency checklist.
Somerset Council has a target date of July 7 by which it hopes to decide on the application.
