New Neighbourhood Watch signs are among the items the donation will fund

A Nisa shop at a forecourt in Walsall, West Midlands, operated by Top 50 Indie Midland Motor Fuel, has donated £2,500 to its local Neighbourhood Watch group.

The donation was made via Co-op Wholesale’s Making a Difference Locally charity and its Heart of the Community initiative, and will go towards the Park Hall Area Neighbourhood Watch efforts to improve community safety and wellbeing.

The Park Hall group is said to be one of the more proactive Neighbourhood Watch associations in the UK, and will use the funds to provide safety items such as torches to vulnerable residents, while also installing new signs in the neighbourhood to improve the group’s visibility.

Road safety measures such as blind-spot mirrors, enhanced lighting and first-aid training for residents are also in the group’s plans.

A spokesperson for Park Hall Area Neighbourhood Watch expressed thanks to the team at the Nisa Local store, and said the donation will have “a real and lasting impact on our community”.
