The video quickly achieved viral status on YouTube

A fast-food restaurant embedded in a filling station in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, has gone viral for its enormous eating challenge, racking up almost 7m views on YouTube in just three days.

Pitstopp, which shares its premises with a Shell forecourt in the centre of market town, offers a £50 ‘Monster Challenge’ which dares customers to eat a huge portion of food in just 30 minutes.

The platter consists of six chicken wings, five chicken strips, kebab meat and a 24oz beef burger (equivalent to six quarter pounders) plus a huge serving of chips, all washed down with a milkshake.

Until recently, nobody had successfully completed the challenge at the F1 inspired restaurant, with a previous contender becoming ill after attempting it.

But a visit from YouTuber BeardMeatsFood, who has just under 7m subscribers, saw it beaten, with the platter finished in 29 minutes and the influencer getting his food for free, plus a T-shirt and a £50 voucher to spend in store.

The resultant video quickly achieved huge reach on YouTube, notching up 6.67 million views three days after it was uploaded, and demonstrating the opportunities offered to forecourt operators by social media.
