Motorway services operator Welcome Break has given £156,000 in community grants away via its charitable fund.
The scheme, founded in 2023, awards grants of between £500 to £25,000 to charities and non-profit organisations located within 25 miles of Welcome Break services and Applegeen sites, with all grants endorsed by team members.
Donations have been given to a number of organisations including food banks, Scouts groups, mentoring schemes, sports clubs and medical charities.
Welcome Break’s people director, Nicola Marshall, comments: “The Welcome Break Charitable Fund Community Grants are a testament to our commitment of supporting the communities we serve. We are delighted to see the positive impact these grants have on local organisations and are proud to support them to help them to continue the wonderful work that they do. We encourage more community groups and charities to apply for our next round of funding in 2026 so that we can continue to make a meaningful difference together.”
