City Facilities Management has been awarded a new five-year contract with BP, to provide facilities management (FM) services across its entire UK retail estate.
The contract will see City, one of the UK’s largest, privately owned facilities management companies continue its long-term partnership with BP, to provide building fabric, electrical and refrigeration maintenance services across more than 300 retail sites.
City’s partnership with BP first commenced in 2009 and the contract now employs more than 60 engineers, supported by a 24/7 helpdesk, based at City’s headquarters in Glasgow.
Allan Abernethy, trading manager for BP’s UK retail business, said: “I am delighted to confirm a new five-year contract with City, which has demonstrated a firm commitment to driving forward not only added value and efficiencies but also health and safety excellence, over the last nine years.
“This is the first time BP has awarded a contract of this duration to any FM provider and I look forward to the future with City on board as a strategic partner.”
Michael Hughes, chief executive officer for City Facilities Management, added: “I am proud that our partnership with BP has grown over the last nine years and firmly believe that this is testament to our teams on the ground, delivering world class FM services on behalf of our customer.
“By continuing to grow and develop our end-to-end FM service offering, we can only enhance our partnership further, ensuring BP meets its long-term, strategic goals.”
