A number of major forecourt operators are set to invest in a new rollover car wash system that features online connectivity, and 3D sensors for more precise cleaning.
WashTec’s SmartCare Connect automatic car wash offers full connectivity with the firm’s online platform, allowing for remote monitoring, configuration and data insights.
The system offers highly configurable programmes to optimise water and chemical use, and is said to deliver “industry leading speeds”. It also features LED lighting to create a sense of theatre for customers.
The system has already been installed at Wharncliffe Garage’s Gulf site in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, which has taken on a dual-bay SmartCare setup; and Park Garage Group’s Yeoman site in Kent, as part of a knock-down rebuild project.
WashTec adds that BP, Rontec and MFG all have SmartCare machines “in scope” for the coming year, and that these plans reflect a sector-wide trend the firm has seen towards “connected, premium rollover equipment”.
