Rondel Group plans to develop Byfield Fiveways Service Station

Rondel Group has acquired Byfield Fiveways Service Station, increasing its network to 12 trading sites across England and Wales.

The BP/Spar outlet is in Byfield, a village in Northamptonshire on the busy A361 that links Daventry to Banbury, and benefits from local and passing trade.

The site, which has plenty parking, has undergone “significant forecourt works”, which has “future-proofed” the site, says property agent Christie & Co.

It is the second time that Christie & Co has been appointed to sell the business in 18 years, this time by Byfield Retail.

Rondel Group chief executive Ronit Jangra says that he is “delighted” to have secured the petrol station which is well positioned for his portfolio.

“This latest acquisition fits perfectly into our growing network and complimenting the larger site we have nearby,” says Jangra, who plans further development at the location.

Rondel Group, which also runs its own fuel distribution business, has now acquired two forecourts through Christie & Co, following an initial purchase in 2025.

Previous owner Shimon Sharrock says it was a difficult decision to sell the business, and that he is now looking forward to taking a break with his wife, to consider their next move.

Dave Morris, regional director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, says he is looking forward to “seeing the site go from strength to strength” under the new ownership.

“While global factors and conflict in the Middle East have presented challenges to the UK fuel market, there are signs that fuel supply conditions are beginning to stabilise as we move towards summer,” he says.
