
The average filling station in the UK has lost £827 in January and February from drive-offs and no-means-of-payment incidents, according to figures compiled by Forecourt Eye.
Monthly average losses for 2026 stand at £423, according to the security-technology firm, with each no-means-of-payment incident in February costing sites an average of £72.50, up from £69.37 in the same month last year.
The average drive-off stood at £46.18 last month, and is largely unchanged on 2025’s figure.
The figures, published by the Petrol Retailers Association, reveal sites covered by Forecourt Eye’s systems recorded an average of 8.2 drive-offs and NMOP incidents last month, up from 7.8 a year ago, while drive-offs accounted for 72% of fuel-loss incidents.
