GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has added a new cherry flavour to its low-calorie sports drink range, Lucozade Sport Lite. It is available in 500ml singles and four x 500ml multipacks.
The company expects it to be a huge hit with everyday exercisers, following in the footsteps of Lucozade Sport cherry, which is already the best selling cherry-flavoured drink in the sports and energy drink market (Nielsen data). It also expects the new flavour to attract new consumers to the Lucozade Sport Lite brand.
GSK reckons the Lucozade Sport Lite cherry variant should prove to be a profitable new addition for retailers alongside the existing lemon & lime and orange flavours.
Multipacks of the low-calorie sports drink will feature imagery from the Louder advertising campaign and a ’No.1’ flash to reflect the theme song reaching number one in the UK charts.
The popularity of the Louder campaign resulted in over one million hits on YouTube.
