The latest fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles have been on display at the British International Motor Show in London.

Manufacturers are showcasing their advances in electric, hybrid, bio-fuel and diesel technologies. Cars on show include Ford Focus flexi-fuel models, which can run on either conventional or bio-fuel, and Saab’s fossil-free BioPower Hybrid Concept, which combines the use of pure bioethanol fuel with electric power.

Ford Motor Company has also just announced that it is to invest £1bn in the UK for further development of a range of new environmental technologies for its cars.

The show runs at Excel until July 30.
