Cadbury this month launches its new premium chocolates aimed at the female gifting market.
Koko by Cadbury are milk chocolates with a rich truffle centre. The individually-wrapped treats come in a 200g handbag design pack, with a rrp of £3.89.
Cadbury says it has identified that female-to-female gifting is a growing area of opportunity within confectionery because "women have a desire to treat and be treated" (Source: trendsight.com/Shoppercentric - ’Indulging to survive the Credit Crunch’).
The chocolates are designed to appeal to customers looking for the ultimate treat for a night in.
Kate Harding, Cadbury’s trade communications manager, says: "Koko by Cadbury should be merchandised on the fixture alongside other gifts, which will help shoppers find it when looking for that perfect present for a friend or relative.
"These truffles are perfect for female gifts and we expect them to perform very well."
Cadbury has launched Koko in time for the all-important Christmas market.
