Ready for the start of Euro 2004, Britvic Soft Drinks is splashing out £6m on a summer campaign for Tango.

From June 9, Tango’s Fred Card character will ‘Make some noise for the boys’ and report on the football action from Portugal live over the radio each day. The promotion will be supported by radio promotions, online advertising, website activity, and PR.

A special version of the ‘Seal’ TV and cinema ad will be created to include football commentary and from July, new pack designs will feature on 330ml cans, six-pack cans and the new shrink-wrapped 4x500ml bottle formats of Tango. Next month will also see an improved cherry variant, supported by national outdoor poster ads.

Britvic has also redesigned the packaging for its energy drink brand Red Devil as well as introducing new packs and its biggest ever on-pack promotion for Robinsons.

In the Red Devil redesign, the red and black colour scheme is retained, while the comic-style devil is replaced by a more grown-up character.

In the next phase of Britvic’s £31m investment in the Robinsons brand, Robinsons High Juice and Robinsons Barley water bottles have a new easy-pour dual grip function for adults and kids.

And a promotion on Robinsons Fruit Squash, No Added Sugar Squash and Fruit & Barley, as well as four- and eight-bottle packs of Fruit Shoot will give shoppers the chance to claim a Polaroid fun sticker camera.
