Coffee Nation has launched the 2G Touch, its new ’intelligent’ coffee machine.

According to the company, 90 of the machines will be introduced into Welcome Break sites following a nine-month trial which generated an additional 25% increase in sales.

Coffee Nation describes the 2G Touch as a "new standard of gourmet vending, focused on creating an intuitive experience for the consumer, one that replicates the experience of being served by a barista in a high street coffee bar".

It has a touch-screen interface which controls the quality and consistency of the drink dispensing while there is room for advertising promotional offers and introducing seasonal product changes.

Scott Martin, Coffee Nation chief executive officer, says: "We are reacting to changing consumer tastes by offering an improved product range which includes our unique signature drinks, free shots and seasonal specials."
