Top 50 Indie Park Garage Group (PGG) has been selected as a finalist in The Grocer Gold Awards 2026.
Already a multi-award winner, the family business is shortlisted by Forecourt Trader’s sister title in its Independent Retail Chain of the Year category.
The Croydon-based operator, which has 80 forecourts across the UK, is up against: Abu Bakr Supermarket, Henderson Retail – Spar, James Convenience Retail, and Sterling Meat Company.
Earlier this year it was recognised for its entrepreneurialism by Forecourt Trader as the Top 50 Indies Retailer of the Year.
Park Garage Group – the sixth largest independent forecourt business – has been at the forefront of the forecourt industry, with high-end canopied charging hubs, and its own food-to-go brand Bakery 79.
Its Bakery 79 concept saw it win ‘Best food to go and coffee outlet’ for its Rushden site in Northamptonshire at last year’s Forecourt Trader Awards. It also took away the gong for ‘Best car care and lubricants outlet’ on the same night for its Thieves Lane, Shrewsbury forecourt.
Not standing still, the business is now experimenting with valeting, attaching purified water machines to jet washes for streak-free cleaning. And it is working on introducing touchscreen food ordering so that electric car drivers do not need to leave their vehicles when charging. Most recently it announced it was switching its in-store supply from AF Blakemore to Co-op Wholesale.
Talking about this latest achievement PGG managing director Sunil Tandon says that he is “incredibly proud” to be a finalist in The Grocer Gold Awards. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our teams across the Park Garage Group and our continued commitment to delivering exceptional service and convenience to our customers and local communities.”
