Rhydymwyn Service Station will get a Post Office in February

Rhydymwyn Mobile Post Office is moving to new fixed premises in February – at Rhydymwyn Service Station in Denbigh Road, Mold.

Local MP Becky Gittins says this is a huge step forward for the community, moving from the current mobile service to a permanent branch that will better serve residents and local businesses.

The Post Office is currently running a consultation to hear locals’ views before the opening - and Gittins says it’s important that the community’s voice is heard loud and clear.

Rhydymwyn Service Station owners, Gemma Newell and her partner Rob Standring, have expanded their shop – in part to make way for the new Post Office. Changes have also been made to the car park to ensure there is space for the extra customers who are expected to use the new Post Office.

The Post Office has said the current mobile service is scheduled to end on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 14.45 and the new Post Office service is scheduled to move to the new premises on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 13.00.

Described as a “local style branch”, customers will access Post Office services at a low-screened, open-plan, modern serving point that’s part of the retail counter.
