APEA 2008, the conference, exhibition and awards event run by the Association for Petroleum & Explosives Administration, will return to the Telford International Centre on October 23. The event starts at 9am with registration and the opening of the exhibition. Companies that have signed up so far

include Car Wash UK, Dresser Wayne, Gilbarco Veeder-Root, Global MSI, LCM Environmental, Suresite, Tokheim (UK) and Torex.

The conference line up includes Somerfield’s Chris Sherlock talking about Vapour Recovery Stage II compliance; Accenture’s Andrew Pincott on alternative fuels and energy for the future; and Ross Shute of the BP Global Alliance on his involvement in the construction of Helios House, the oil giant’s state-of-the-art forecourt in Los Angeles. There will be a chance to question speakers at the end of the day.

The APEA Industry Awards will take place in the evening with entertainment from electric violinist Sarah Tuke and stand-up comics. Individual places at the dinner can be booked for £80 plus VAT or tables of 10 or 12 are available.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root is sponsoring the event for the third time.
