BP Retail has appointed supply chain management company Exel to manage the 24 hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week distribution of frozen, chilled and ambient goods to more than 340 BP forecourts in the UK for the next three years.

Andy Davis, BP UK Retail’s trading director, said: “Through its forecourt stores, BP Retail is continually looking at ways of improving the offer to the customer and at the same time meeting customer demand for convenience goods 24 hours-a-day.”

Exel is establishing a dedicated national distribution centre at Magna Park near Lutterworth, Midlands, to provide an extensive range of the warehouse and distribution management services for BP. Exel already provides BP with bulk fuel distribution from its main terminals.
